Collaborating across the creative industry with musicians, models, dancers, artists, fashion brands and charities, Norah has developed a distinctive style of photography. Working primarily with 35mm and 120mm film, she aims to explore not only her inner world but the world of her subjects. Strongly motivated from a young age to push barriers of what it means to be a woman in photography, she turns against the norm to explore dreamy, sometimes avant-garde, and soft portraits that materialise the female gaze by including the subject as a part of her creative process.

Norah is heavily inspired by her Celtic ancestry, nature, indigenous practices and spirituality, as well as burlesque and underground performance and dance culture. Her artistic influences are spread vastly across mediums, which reflects throughout her multi-disciplinary practice. She notes world builders such as Tim Burton, Josephine Baker, Georgia O’Keeffe, Hayao Miyazaki, Hilma af Klint, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Pom, Thierry Mugler, Brian Froud, Tom Moore (Cartoon Saloon) and Ursula Le Guin have deeply impacted her perspective and capacity to translate the world around her through the art she creates. Alongside these influences, Norah’s connection to culture and spirituality remains the primary informant of her practice..
